MFR is an antique and furniture restoration workshop, based in Durban.
We cater to everyone, and are equally happy fixing your rickety old chair as we are restoring granny's 200 year old Bonheur-du-jour. The workshop is run by Clint McLean and Mike Shozi. Together they have over 50 years of experience in the repair and restoration of furniture.
Mike has a real love for timber, and learnt his craft in a workshop run by a classically trained German antique restorer in Durban in the late 1990s. He spent 15 years working alongside the eccentric, and brilliant, restorer, and has tackled some extremely delicate antique restorations in his career. He can also fix that rickety old chair.
Clint is a specialist in all that is metal. He completed a blacksmith apprenticeship in London, and has built and restored furniture around the world . He has also worked as an Art Director in the film and television industry in Europe, the US and SA, and takes the creative lead at MFR. If you are battling for inspiration, Clint will help you find your style.
